Glendale Arizona, April 9-12. After giving up the points to a nice dog on Friday, Hocus Pocus earned winners dog the next 3 days in a row. On Monday the cream rose all the way to the top. In the Breed ring he created his own 3-point major by leaving all the Champions (including the winner of the Canadian National Specialty) behind. And… if that wasn’t enough, he went on to a Working Group Placement under a different Judge! At only 18 months of age, Hocus Pocus has given Magic Berners yet another Group Placing Contender behind Sorceress and Clairvoyant. We look forward to seeing him mature in the ring.

After the judging Sunday morning May 31, 2009, Magic Berners found itself with both Winner’s Bitch and Winner’s Dog thanks to Mrs. Debra Thornton. Enchanted [Magold-Falvi Very nice: Magold-Falvi Playboy x Magold-Falvi Quenti], our pretty Hungarian girl is on a roll. She finished three days of competition last week end in Pomona earning Winner’s Bitch each day and now earning her first major here in Pasadena makes her 4 for 4 in her last outings. She travels to the Oregon shows next month with Sorceress – wish them luck.
Our Wizard [Magic Berner’s Wizard: CH Tchoum du Haras de la Vergne x CH Alpenspirit Sweet November], Earned his first point from the Bred By Exhibitor Class on Sunday. Thank you Debra Thornton for recognizing our boy.

Sorceress Earns an Award of Merit 
- Portland Oregon May 1, 2009 CH Magic Berners Sorceress placed in the top 5% of the Best of Breed competition to earn the Judge’s Award of Merit. Over 600 Bernese Mt. Dogs converged on the Red Lion Hotel on the Columbia River this week. The event was the 33rd consecutive annual specialty for the breed hosted by the Bernese Mt, Dog club of America and sanctioned by the American Kennel Club. For 5 days the dogs and handlers competed in draft, herding, tracking, agility, obedience, rally, and conformation. We are very proud of our girl. Anna Morgan {Sorceress’s handler} said, “She couldn’t put a single foot down wrong, she showed her little heart out.”

Tchoum Places 4th in the Stud Dog Class
– Portland Oregon April 29, 2009 CH Tchoum du Haras de la Vergne placed fourth in stiff competition late Wednesday afternoon. The judging for this class is based on the quality and consistency of the Stud Dog’s offspring. Tchoum entered the ring with two of his sons [Magic Berners Wizard (Wizard) and Sendache's X-Mas X-Change V Astia (Cutler)]. The boys were very striking. They are quite similar in conformation and structure. They demonstrated Tchoum’s ability to consistently sire dogs strong in type, with sound temperments. A special thanks to Joanna Matthisen for sharing Cutler and handling him to this class placement.

Clairvoyant, Charm, and Sorceress lead the way
December 10,11,12, 2008 – Beverly Hills, Los Encinos, Long Beach, KC’s
For three days Clairvoyant (Clairvoyant du Haras de la Vergne) swept the Long Beach shows. He placed Winners Dog and Best of Winners every day and earned 3 – Three Point Majors.
Charm (Good Charm Van’t Pachthof) showed extremely well also. She brought home both of the “Major Wins’ required under AKC rules to qualify for her championship. Both Clairvoyant and Charm are just a few points away from new titles
Our baby girl Sorcerers went head to head with many of the nations top ranked dogs, who had gathered in Long Beach for the Eukanuba Classic . She placed ‘Best Opposite Sex” two of the three days. We are very proud of her. Sorceress (Magic Berner’s Sorceress) will not turn two years of age until next May. She is a beautiful girl, and we are looking forward to seeing her mature in the ring next year.
Yaqui (Wolf Dreamer’s Yaqui Magic), owned by Maggie Prilliman, earned Best Puppy on Thursday. Hagrid (Magic Berner’s Phoenix Rising), owned by William & Jamye Rogers, earned his first leg toward the AKC title CD (Companion Dog). – Good job Jamye & Hagrid.

Magic Berners welcomes Hagrid as its newest Champion.
Irwindale, CA, USA - 01 Nov, 2008 CH Magic Berner’s Phoenix Rising CGC (AKA Hagrid).
Hagrid finished in style earning Best Of Winners in his last shows to complete the requirements for Champion of Record as awarded by the American Kennel Club. Hagrid is owned by William & Jamye Rogers, bred by Magic Berners, and handled by Magdalena Prilliman. Hagrid is only 20 months old and has already amassed an impressive set of accomplishments, including an Award of Merit and major wins at Palm Springs, 2008 and Orange Empire 2008. We look forward to following his career. — CONGRATULATIONS: Jamye, William , Maggie and Hagrid.
PS: Hagrid finished the weekend - BIG! For the first time in the ring entered in Champion Class, Hagrid placed Best of Breed ahead of not one but two top ranked Bernese Mt Dogs. — Good Show Hagrid.

ILLUSION EARNS NEW TITLE….
Paso Robles, CA. Sunday November 16, 2008 Qualifying in his third consecutive class, CH ILLUSION VAN’T STOKERYBOS RN,CD earned his CD with a 191.5 from the Novice-B obedience class. He really performed well in the hot afternoon sun. A perfect score is 200. This performance was The Team’s high score – so far! Their feet have yet to touch the ground.
Thank you Mrs. Rosalie Alvarez for surviving the hot afternoon and judging our class.
EXCALIBUR PICKS UP HIS SECOND RALLY LEG…
Not to be left out of the victory circle, CH EXCALIBUR VAN’T STOKERYBOS, RN, RA, CD put in yet another qualifying performance. He and Bruce placed 4th from the highly competitive Rally Excellent-B class. – Congratulations Illusion, Excalibur & Bruce.

Sierra West Regional Specialty. 133 Berners Entered. Tchoum was awarded Best of Breed / Best in Specialty by Deborah Mulvey. This was one of the most exciting moments of our lives. For our boy to receive this great honor, awarded by one of the most highly respected breeder judges in the BMDCA, truly has made our dream come true.
